LWT
Reframing an engineering legacy for what comes next.

The starting point
When the company outgrows its identity
For decades, Lotus built technology for industries where failure isn't an option. Power. Steel. Railways. Ports. Mining. Defence.
Its capabilities had grown across engineering, automation, electronics, manufacturing and R&D, but the brand hadn't kept pace.
The opportunity was to make the brand feel as capable, ambitious and sophisticated as the company behind it.
The company had evolved. The identity hadn't.

The brief
A new chapter
The business was moving beyond its original wireless identity toward a broader group structure under LWT.
The question changed from “How do we make Lotus Wireless look like a global technology company?” to:
How do we create an identity that can hold multiple businesses, technologies and future directions?

The idea
Advanced on the outside. Human at the core.
The brand had to hold two things that rarely appear together: engineering precision and human connection.
Powerful and progressive, without becoming cold or generic.
That tension became the foundation of the identity.
Engineering precision. Human connection.

The mark
Bold Innovation in Motion
The LWT identity was built around movement.
Sharp cuts bring precision. Forward forms create momentum. The structure brings order to complexity.
The mark feels like it is moving forward, rather than simply sitting still.

The structure
Many parts. One whole.
The ten segments within the mark carry a quieter idea.
They represent the ambition to bring multiple capabilities and future verticals together under one organisation.
The meaning stays deliberately structural, allowing the identity to grow with the organisation.
Different parts. One direction.

Hidden inside
There's a story inside the ten
The number carries a more personal layer.
The company was founded in honour of Kamal, whose name means Lotus. Her birthday fell on the 10th.
That connection is quietly embedded in the mark, turning a structural detail into a reference to the people and relationships behind the business.
A brand built for growth, with its roots still intact.

The system
Designing the language around the mark
The identity needed to become a system, not just a symbol.
The visual language is built around precision, motion, technology, humanity and scale, allowing it to move across industrial environments, corporate communication and digital experiences.
Structure meets energy: a dark foundation gives the brand weight. Red and orange bring energy, ambition and movement. Warm accents add a human counterpoint.
Bold creativity on top. Strong structure underneath.

In the world
One identity, many environments
The system was designed to travel across corporate communication, digital, social, events, physical environments and employee touchpoints.
The goal was simple:
Make the identity recognisable wherever it appears.

The ecosystem
From brand to ecosystem
The work extended into the way the company communicates.
Corporate presentations and catalogues brought scattered information into a clearer narrative. Product and capability communication made complex technology easier to understand. Internal and external touchpoints came together under one visual language.
The shift was from “Here is what we do.” to:
“Here is what we are building.”

Built to scale
Built to scale
A group identity cannot be designed only around what exists today.
LWT was designed to move beyond a single product, technology or industry, creating a visual foundation for the organisation's next stage of growth.

Outcome
The transformation
Before: a capable engineering company with a legacy identity that undersold its scale and ambition.
After: a broader identity built around innovation, movement, precision and human connection.
Many capabilities. Many relationships. One direction. A brand built to carry the weight of where the company came from, and the ambition of where it wants to go.
